On the margins of the 15th Session of the Statistical Commission of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-StatCom), SESRIC and the National Agency for Statistics and Demography of Senegal (ANSD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further strengthen cooperation in the field of official statistics.
The MoU establishes a framework for enhanced collaboration in statistical capacity development, with particular emphasis on the joint organisation of training programmes, workshops, and technical exchanges under the Statistical Capacity Building Programme (StatCaB). The partnership is intended to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and good practices, while supporting the continuous enhancement of statistical capabilities and institutional capacities.
Through this partnership, SESRIC and ANSD reaffirmed their shared commitment to improving the quality, comparability, accessibility, and availability of official statistics. The enhanced cooperation is expected to contribute to strengthening national statistical systems, promoting evidence-based policymaking, and supporting the achievement of national, regional, and OIC development priorities.
