Date: 27-28 September 2026
Venue: Kocaeli - Türkiye

SESRIC participated in the International Strategic Workshop “Palestinian Education: From Relief to Empowerment”, organised by the Isnad Foundation for Palestinian Student Support (IFPSS) in collaboration with TÜGVA and Alkhidmat Europe.

The workshop brought together international charitable organisations, universities and academic institutions, including the Islamic University of Gaza and Al-Aqsa University. It aimed to strengthen coordination among institutions supporting Palestinian education, discuss the challenges facing Palestinian students and universities, particularly in the Gaza Strip, and move from emergency educational assistance toward sustainable academic and professional empowerment.

SESRIC delivered a presentation highlighting its activities across OIC Member Countries, with particular emphasis on its capacity-building initiatives benefiting Palestinian national institutions and students. The presentation highlighted the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member Countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET), the Palestine National Institutions Capacity Building Programme (PALESTINE-CaB), and the SESRIC Emerging Talents Capacity Building Programme (SET-CAB), showcasing their contributions to strengthening institutional capacities, enhancing vocational and professional skills, and supporting the development of emerging talents among young people across the OIC Member Countries.

During the workshop, participants discussed the continuity of education, support for Palestinian students, mobilizing efforts for scholarships and academic opportunities, and strengthening partnerships between Palestinian universities and their international counterparts. They also discussed ways to move from immediate emergency educational assistance toward sustainable programs focused on academic and professional empowerment.
