SESRIC, in its capacity as the Secretariat of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom), organized the 15th Session of the OIC-StatCom in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group. The Session was hosted by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah, on 29–30 September 2026.
The Session reviewed the activities undertaken since the previous session and facilitated deliberations on the following technical themes:
From SDG Interlinkages to OIC Strategic Priorities: Shaping the Monitoring Future for OIC Programme of Action (PoA) 2026–2035
Modernising Population and Housing Statistics through Digital and Interoperable Data Systems
Implementing the System of National Accounts 2025: Measuring the Digital Economy, Globalisation, Informality and Islamic Finance
Sustainable Development Goals: Monitoring and Reporting SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) Indicators
Since the adoption of the Istanbul Declaration in 2010, OIC Member Countries have convened their annual meetings under the umbrella of the OIC-StatCom. As the Secretariat of the Commission, SESRIC continued to facilitate this important platform, which promoted the exchange of experiences, good practices, and technical expertise among the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of OIC Member Countries, with a view to supporting the development and implementation of more effective national statistical systems, strategies, and policies.
