SESRIC Strengthens Cooperation with ICMPD on Migration Policy at ADF 2026

On the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) 2026, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a meeting with H.E. Susanne RAAB, Director General of International Centre for Migration Policy Development.

The meeting focused on exploring avenues for enhanced collaboration in the fields of migration policy research, capacity building, and knowledge exchange. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening evidence-based policymaking, improving migration governance frameworks, and advancing the effective use of statistical data across OIC countries.

H.E. SELÇUK underlined SESRIC’s ongoing commitment to supporting OIC countries through data-driven approaches and technical cooperation. She noted that migration, as a multidimensional phenomenon, requires coordinated efforts grounded in reliable data and robust institutional capacities. Highlighting SESRIC’s expertise in statistical capacity building and socio-economic research, she stated that deepening cooperation with ICMPD would further enhance the ability of OIC countries to design informed and sustainable migration policies. She also expressed SESRIC’s readiness to engage in joint initiatives, including training programmes, analytical studies, and knowledge-sharing platforms.

In response, H.E. RAAB welcomed the prospect of closer collaboration and commended SESRIC’s role in advancing statistical systems and research capacities across OIC member states. She emphasized that ICMPD attaches great importance to partnerships that foster inclusive and evidence-based migration governance. Noting the growing complexity of migration dynamics, she highlighted the value of combining ICMPD’s policy expertise with SESRIC’s strong data and research capabilities. willingness to explore concrete joint actions aimed at enhancing institutional capacities and promoting best practices in migration management.
