H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a meeting with Prof. Dr. Kasım YENİGÜN, Director General for Combating Desertification and Erosion at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye, at the SESRIC Headquarters.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to engage in constructive dialogue on advancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest, particularly in addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development across OIC countries. Discussions focused on identifying strategic avenues for cooperation, including knowledge exchange, capacity-building initiatives, and the implementation of joint programmes aimed at combating desertification, land degradation, and erosion.

Both parties underscored the importance of strengthening institutional partnerships and leveraging technical expertise to support evidence-based policymaking and sustainable resource management in OIC countries.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to fostering closer cooperation and developing practical initiatives that contribute to environmental sustainability and resilience in the OIC region.
